Community Programming

Community Programming extends the CEED's impact beyond the university to the broader community. These programs aim to stimulate economic growth, job creation, and community development by accelerating Mainstreet.

The Small Business Expansion Summit was created with the sole purpose of accelerating Mainstreet NC by helping local small business owners take ACTIONABLE steps to grow 1% better.

When: Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, 8:30am to 5:00pm EST

Location: NCCU's School of Business - Lowe's Auditorium, 829 E. Lawson St, Durham, NC 27701

The Small Business Assistance Clinic is an experiential learning opportunity that partners students with local small business owners on project-related challenges. In collaboration with the Small Business and Technology Development Center, students will serve as “co-counselors” alongside on-campus General Business Counselors to provide technical assistance with practical application in the areas of marketing, tech, finance, operations, and HR.

The Ice House Entrepreneurship Programs are experiential, problem-based learning programs designed to empower learners by exposing them to entrepreneurial thinking while immersing them in entrepreneurial experiences that will enable them to develop creativity and critical thinking, effective problem solving, teamwork, and other entrepreneurial skills – skills that will enable them to succeed regardless of their chosen path.

Ice House programs are designed to advance student success, develop the workforce, and improve small business outcomes. Learn more about the program below.

Business accelerator weekends are intensive, short-term programs—typically lasting two to three days—designed to established businesses focus on scaling, innovation, and strategic growth.
